Nightbird

My spirit ranges as the bear
Preens as the parrot
watches as the deer
soars as the hawk
hunts as the bat
sees as the owl
glows as a field of fireflies, alight, in flight, at night
Thank you, my Allies

My bare feet caress the land
in worship
and in dance
My roots flow down
into the core of the Earth
and Her energy flows into me
steamy and dense and nourishing
She blesses and restores me, oh how she adores me!
Thank you, Gaia, our Mother

My graceful arms sweep through the air
drawing down the Goddess
My hardened hands play rhythms sharp
calling forth the Gods
My raspy voice rises with paens of thanks
to the Ancestors and All My Relations
I will face all I awaken with surety, for I embody Love
Thank you, Body, my Instrument

My heart is a fountain
Ace of Cups, overflowing
warm and fluid comfort
that wraps around
my Beloveds
A safe haven
of Divine Unconditional Love
Thank you, Heart, my Guide

.

Formidable and strong
knowing my value
keenly observing
giving voice to the sky
a method to my madness
missing no critical detail
alight, in flight, at night, I see all I need to see
Thank you, Nightbird, iteration of Me
