Hi everyone. Just a little note here to let folks know what is going on in my life and with my various missions here on Earth.

MOVING AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA
Most importantly, I’ll be shifting my attention from Facebook and other social media to this website more for the foreseeable future. Social media platforms are great in many ways, but they can also shut down at any time (as we witnessed with TikTok recently). I want my writings, photos, and events to be secure online, and under my own control. Hence the change. I’ll still maintain my pages, but will use them mostly for promotions, groups, and keeping track of friends.

I may be posting frequently. I would suggest you adjust your settings now to Weekly Digest if you would rather not receive possible daily updates. I don’t know in reality how often I will post, but I’ve historically posted a lot on FB, so I may be doing that here now instead.

UPCOMING EVENTS
I’ve got an exciting year coming up, with many events where I’ll be presenting, vending, or volunteering. I hope to see you at one of these! Beyond this, look for me in the Athens, OH area during the summer camping season (Apr-Oct), where I plan to be living on the land in my pop-up camper, Verna. Fingers crossed I can get solar power figured out. 😀

News & Announcements! Nightbird Takes Flight

Hello, friends! The new year has been fast and chaotic so far, but I’m surfing the energetic waves and keeping my eyes on the prize. This newsletter will give updates on my upcoming events, the beautiful growth of my YouTube channel and a CONTEST I’m currently running, an exciting debut event announcement (yay!), and also some new offerings in my services.

Upcoming Events for Spring/Summer 2024:

Apr. 24 – 28, 2024 – Florida Pagan Gathering, Camp Kiwanis, Silver Springs, FL
I will likely offer services during the festival (tarot readings, shamanic reiki sessions, spiritual check-ins), and of course I will be drumming!

May 24 – 27, 2024 – Memorial Day Community Work Weekend, Wisteria Event Site, Pomeroy, OH
Getting ready for the season with the Ohio Tribe! Honestly, work weekends are just as much fun as the festivals, and better in some ways. I will be informally available for services to the community (tarot readings, shamanic reiki sessions, spiritual check-ins) during this weekend.

June 20 – 23, 2024 – Appalachian Summer Solstice, Wisteria Event Site, Pomeroy, OH
I will be submitting workshop and ritual applications soon, and will likely also offer services during the festival (tarot readings, shamanic reiki sessions, spiritual check-ins).

July 9 – 15, 2024 – The Starwood Festival, Wisteria Event Site, Pomeroy, OH
I will be presenting two workshops: “Get in Touch with Your Energetic Body” & “Ascension: What’s All the Hubbub, Bub?” If you’ve been curious about either reiki or the idea of evolving levels of consciousness, please come and take part. The Reiki workshop will be hands-on (yourself! lol), while the Ascension workshop is more of an open discussion. I may also offer services during the festival (tarot readings, shamanic reiki sessions, spiritual check-ins), to be determined.

Taking Flight on YouTube! Plus, CONTEST!

I’m really excited about the growth of my YouTube channel, Nightbird ~ Karen E. Martin. Since I posted my first Daily Tarot Reading on Dec. 23, 2023, my videos have had over 4,000 views! I’ve produced more than 170 videos, and I haven’t missed a single day in this first three-month time period, for which I am very proud of myself. It feels good to have a passion calling to me again, and the content is flowing beautifully. (For proof of that, check out today’s amazing read here!) My current is big goal is to attract 500 subscribers, so if you know folks who may enjoy my channel, please share it with them. Thank you!

I’m also running a contest on the channel! First prize is a full-size copy & guidebook of Doreen Virtue’s Goddess Guidance cards. Second prize is a mini-deck of the Romance Angel cards. I love both of these decks; they add a lot to my readings. You can enter once each day by sharing the daily tarot video and commenting that you shared, either on YouTube or Facebook (or elsewhere, just let me know).

New Offering: TAROT PARTIES!
I’ve begun offering Tarot Parties to small groups, either in person or virtually by videochat. My first Tarot Party happened March 18, and was a wonderful success. Four long-time girlfriends gathered around a kitchen table in Kansas City, MO, as I read for each one of them in their turn via videochat. You can imagine the laughter and commentary that ensued! The guests were quite surprised by the accuracy of the readings, especially when I pegged one of the group as having psychic abilities. I could instantly see in their faces they knew it was true, and after that, the session felt fully locked in. Each person took away surprising messages, and it’s safe to say that this simple “entertainment” was far more thought-provoking and useful than expected.

I would love to book more Tarot Parties, as they are so much fun! They are also very easy to organize and participate in – it’s just a simple videochat, and all the guests need to do is show up. New Offering: MINISTRY

As an ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church since 2016, I am legally authorized to perform ceremonies such as weddings and remembrance celebrations. Please message me if you’d like to inquire about developing a ceremony or personal ritual together. I also offer Spiritual/Life Path Check-ins by appointment, in person or by videochat (phone if needed). My work is generally by donation; those who can afford to donate more generously help to fund the free sessions I offer to community members in need of help and healing.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Dragons Awakening Drum & Fire Gathering
Please join us September 19 – 22, 2024 for this debut event, Dragons Awakening, which will take place at the Dragon Haven grounds near Crossville, TN. Enjoy three nights of transformative personal ritual, deeply thoughtful workshops, and spiritually-focused celebration around the nightly fires. Drumming ends at midnight on Thursday and Friday, but we will aim to greet the dawn on Sunday morning, voices raised in joy and empowerment! I will be developing and leading the Friday night ritual, as well as assisting with Fire Tribe duties.

Upcoming Events & Other Announcements

Hello, friends! It has been a very busy but productive holiday season. I have started offering services at community events, and I’ve also given my YouTube channel a soft launch. (More on that in a minute.)

On December 22, I opened my booth for my debut at the Blue Raven Full Moon Market (& Community Drum Circle). I was kept busy for the first three hours solid, with three back-to-back reiki sessions followed by three back-to-back tarot readings – and then more reiki and tarot readings after that. Most of the people I worked with had never had reiki or tarot, so I had the honor of being their introduction to these arts I value so highly. All went beautifully, and I even got to top the evening off with a wee bit of drumming out by the fire.

Upcoming Events in 2024:

Jan. 7 – Market at the Monk, noon until 5:00 p.m., St. Petersburg, FL
Tarot readings and reiki sessions.

Jan. 19 – Q’ero Fire Ceremony with Karen D. Riber, 6:45 to 9:45 p.m., Palm Harbor, FL
I will be serving as firetender for this transformational shamanic ceremony. “A fire ceremony, whether personal or in a group setting, can help shift and clear old energies, subconsciousness patterns, community issues, and old lessons with conscious action & gratitude.”

Jan. 26 – Blue Raven Full Moon Market, 7:00 to 11:00 p.m., St. Petersburg, FL
Tarot readings and reiki sessions.

Feb. 29 – Mar. 3 – Hawkfest, Maddox Ranch, Lakeland, FL
I will be presenting a shamanic workshop during the festival, which will likely be an Upper World journey to a place of personal healing. Details to come, topic may shift.

I’m on YouTube!

I have launched my channel, Nightbird ~ Karen E. Martin, and I posted my first video on Dec. 23: Nightbird’s Special Christmas Edition Life-changing Metaphysical Book Review. (Phew, try to say that five times fast.) It’s about one of my all-time most important books, “Love is Letting Go of Fear”, so check it out if you would like to hear a brief excerpt and a bit of my personal history.

I’ve also been posting daily shorts. In these one-minute clips, I have been pulling a single card to offer quick insights from Spirit. Today’s One Card Message was the Sky Dancer card, from the 5 Keys to Happiness Oracle Cards. I aim to post one of these short readings every day – or at least as often as possible – so check back to my YouTube channel regularly. I’ve been surprised to see that the first three shorts have all gotten over 50-60 views each so far. I can’t imagine who would have found my channel at this point, so I think YouTube must be promoting the shorts since they are “New” (from a debuting channel).

I ask you to please support my work by subscribing to the channel, turning on notifications, liking/sharing/commenting, and especially, by watching. All of these actions help the algorithm boost my videos, allowing my messages to find more of the people who may want to hear them. Thank you so much! I appreciate you, friends.
